Towards evidence-based road safety education for all age groups in the Netherlands

Road safety education (RSE) is an essential part of the integrated approach to traffic safety. In The Netherlands more than 170 educational products and programs are available. In the presentation we will provide an overview of the steps that have been taken towards a more structured and evidence-based approach of road safety activities, and the results of these efforts. This includes the creation of a framework known as Lifelong Road Safety Education (LRSE), the development of specific educational goals and the development of the road safety education checklist used to design and assess interventions.
