13 Jan 2021 - ETG Webinar: New learning methods for driving education

The content of this webinar has been developed by Eddy Klynen, from VSV, our Associated member in Belgium, and Risto Kasemae, from the Estonian Road Administration. Both experts are part of the CIECA Educational Topical group, and will be supported by Juri Ess, lecturer at the Tallinn University of Technology, and CEO of Liikluslab (Traffic Lab), that will be an overview of how blended learning has been implemented in Estonia in the last years.

The design of new learning This is an interesting topic, but the outbreak of the corona virus has made it especially relevant. Not only because a lot of face-to-face classes have been forbidden, but also because this virus has had an enormous impact on learning methods. Within this context, VSV and the ERA would like to present two different approaches to the development of new learning tools, that have been in used for a while.

VSV has some experience in the field of on-line learning, and they will take this opportunity to show the website, www. mijnrijbewijsB.be, which in their words has become the ‘perfect co-pilot to get your driving licence B’.

Attendants to this webinar will also have the opportunity to get familiar with new learning tools that have been developed by Traffic Lab in Estonia.

However, the real interest behind this webinar is to initiate a discussion with all CIECA members about new challenges regarding online and blended methods of learning. The questions that the presenters would like to explore are the following:

  • Are CIECA members involved in e-learning?
  • What are their experiences (good and bad)?
  • How to combine the official curriculum and blended learning?
  • Do authorities give the necessary approvals?
  • Is blended learning applicable not only for theory but also for the practical test?
