26 January - CIECA WEBINAR SERIES: Driving data for examination: A proof of concept in the Netherlands

PRESENTERDaniel Heikoop, Strategic Product Manager at CBR (The Netherlands)

In a world of ever-increasing digitalisation, also cars are becoming increasingly digital. With digitalisation comes data, and potential uses for said data. One potential use for data of a (driven) car is as a support tool for driving instructors to teach their students where things went wrong or well based on objective data from the car and the drive itself. As an extension of that, using data to support the driving examiner in their verdict has potential benefits as well to either avoid or alleviate discussions with disagreeing students. In light of that potence, the Dutch driving license authority (CBR) is performing research on that feat with its project called “Rijdata”, or “Driving Data”.

This webinar will present an overview of our first step within this project as a Proof of Concept, as well as a simultaneously executed Master’s thesis project which investigated the possibilities of establishing thresholds for driving data.
