Cieca | The International Commission for Driver Testing

The report describes the recommendations developed in a CIECA workshop organised for the study Analyses of the theory and the practical test for categories A, C and D, their trailer- and subcategories.

Directive 91/439/EEC served as the basis for discussion. The contents of the Directive was analysed and partly regrouped and recommendations were formulated concerning:

• the definition of the motorcycle categories
  
• minimum ages
  
• the timing, waiting period, organisation and contents of the theory test
  
• the location, contents, assessment criteria, duration, waiting period and test vehicle requirements of the practical test
